Paris 2024 Olympic Village Beds: Organizers Ensure Comfort and Sustainability
Paris 2024 organizers have clarified that the beds in the Olympic and Paralympic Village will be robust and comfortable, dispelling rumors of anti-sex beds for athletes. The choice of beds is primarily aimed at ensuring minimal environmental impact and giving equipment a second life after the Games. The organizers emphasized that the furniture has been rigorously tested for quality and comfort. Additionally, they announced the distribution of 210,000 male condoms, 20,000 female condoms, and 10,000 dental dams to athletes. Despite media reports about the small size of the cardboard beds, Paris 2024 highlighted the sustainability aspect of the decision. The bed bases, made from recycled cardboard by Airweave, will be adaptable to athletes of different body types. The mattresses will be donated to various organizations after the Games.
