Surprise Proposal at CMU Graduation Leaves Woman with Degree and Fiancé

The Central Michigan University commencement ceremony took an unexpected turn for one graduate, Zoe Reddick, who not only received her bachelor’s degree in theatre and interpretation but also got engaged to her boyfriend, Ian Thomsen, during the event.

The surprise proposal was orchestrated by Thomsen with the help of CMU President Bob Davies, who called Reddick and her family to the front of the stage at the John G. Kulhavi Events Center. As the crowd looked on, Thomsen dropped to one knee and asked for Reddick’s hand in marriage, to which she joyfully said “yes.”

The heartwarming moment was captured on camera by CMU staff, and the footage can be viewed at the provided link. The unexpected proposal added an extra special touch to Reddick’s graduation day, leaving her with not only a college degree but also a fiancé.
