Michael Caine Questions the Purpose of Intimacy Coordinators
Legendary actor Michael Caine has sparked controversy with his recent comments questioning the purpose of intimacy coordinators in film and TV. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 90-year-old actor expressed disbelief at the role of intimacy coordinators, stating, “What are they? We never had that in my day.”
Caine went on to express his nostalgia for a time when love scenes were done without any interference, lamenting the changes in the industry. He also shared his thoughts on political correctness, calling it “dull” and expressing his frustration at not being able to speak his mind freely.
Despite his reservations about modern filmmaking practices, Caine is set to star in the upcoming British-French drama “The Great Escaper,” based on the true story of World War II veteran Bernard “Bernie” Jordan. The film, which opens in U.K. theaters on Oct. 6, could potentially be Caine’s final project as he hinted at retirement due to his age and health.
Fans of the iconic actor will have to wait and see if “The Great Escaper” truly marks the end of Caine’s illustrious career on the big screen.
