DAVIE, Fla. – A security guard was arrested early Monday morning after firing more than a dozen gunshots into the air in an attempt to break up a fight at a Davie bowling alley.

Jhajaira Elizabeth Mora Peralta, 47, of Plantation, was working as a security guard at SpareZ when the incident occurred. According to police, she fired roughly 13 shots from her black Glock 19 in an effort to stop the brawl, causing fear among patrons.

The Davie Police Department arrest report states that Mora Peralta, employed by EMS Protective Group, claimed she saw a man being attacked and fired the shots out of fear for his safety. She insisted that she did not point the gun at anyone directly.
