Eau Claire Police Officers Help Wausau Man Propose in Heartwarming Gesture
Eau Claire Police Officers Help Wausau Man Turn Traffic Stop into Marriage Proposal
Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) – Love was in the air in Eau Claire when two ECPD officers helped a Wausau man turn a routine traffic stop into a memorable marriage proposal.
On November 18, outside the Pablo Center, Troy Goldschmidt surprised his girlfriend, Moriah Prichard, by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him during what seemed like a typical traffic stop. The couple, who had visited Eau Claire earlier in the year and had a positive experience with Officer Maggie Anderson, decided that the city held a special place in their hearts.
Troy explained that Officer Anderson had helped Moriah find her lost phone during their previous visit to Eau Claire, which had been a scary experience for them. Grateful for her assistance and impressed by the kindness they encountered in the city, Troy knew that he wanted to propose to Moriah in Eau Claire.
With the help of the Eau Claire Police Department, Troy began planning the proposal about five weeks ago. Both of their families were present at The District Pub & Grill, watching as Troy popped the question across the street. Inside their hotel room, flowers and a card awaited Moriah as a sweet surprise after the proposal.
The couple expressed their gratitude for Officer Anderson’s help and the positive experience they had with her, which ultimately led to the special moment that brought them closer together. Eau Claire will forever hold a special place in their hearts as the city where their love story took a memorable turn.
